Position:
First Move to Commerce – Assistant Accountant – 1 position available

Location: Sydney Office

About the role:

We are looking for an astute accounting candidate with no less than 3 years’ experience in financial/business services and taxation gained in either a chartered or public practice firm. The candidate should also be through or part way through gaining their CPA or CA qualifications.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the right candidate will be trained in all facets of accounting, from daily processing work to monthly financial accounts and beyond.  The overall work that the person will be involved in is only limited to their own ambition to progress their career. The candidate should be “hands-on” in their approach and used to working in a fast-paced, yet friendly environment. The candidate should also be a team player, not afraid to ask questions, flexible and adaptable by nature. Assistance will also be given in finalising their studies, if required.

Computer Skills:

The candidate should be proficient in Excel and Word, as well as in Pages and Numbers. The company uses Attache BI as its main accounting and payroll software system, as well as Xero for the UK company, and Bill Quick (a new industry-based software which will be implemented in the new year).

Interested in this position?

Please send a letter introducing yourself and stating why you would be perfect for this role, together with your resume to: accounts@fjmtstudio.com

All candidates must possess full Australian Work Rights.

The Selection Process:

Suitable candidates will be shortlisted and asked to attend an initial interview (where they will also be required to sit for a short accounting and taxation test). Depending on the results achieved (we may decide to place 2 candidates instead), the successful candidate/s will be asked in for a second and final interview; after which an offer will be made.

The expected start date will be on February 2019.

Only serious career-minded candidates looking for a long-term career in commerce should apply.  The right candidate will be mentored and have the opportunity to advance their career; as there is plenty of room for future promotion within this company.

We are looking for an Accountant not an Accounts Processor.

Salary is negotiable, dependent on experience.  As a guide the candidate will be looking at a $70,000 – $75,000 package.

Applications close Friday 25 January 2019.
